Educational Cemetery Tour Takes Place Sunday in Greensboro
A historic walking tour of Green Hill Cemetery takes place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Greensboro.
Volunteers will guide and provide information on indigenous trees, monuments, mausoleums and prominent families, interred in the cemetery, according to a press release.
The tour costs $5 and includes a historic guidebook. Fees will benefit the City Cemeteries restoration fund, the press release stated.
The city of Greensboro established the Green Hill Cemetery in 1887.
The cemetery provides a park-like setting for remembrance with its flora and fauna, according to the Friends of Green Hill Cemetery.
The Friends of Green Hill Cemetery are hosting the event with the City Cemeteries Division of the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department.
